Abstracts The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 10th International Symposium on NeuroVirology has been extended; abstracts will now be accepted through Sunday, August 1st. Abstract submissions will only be accepted through the online submission system. Abstract length is limited to 300 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations). Please refer to the Online Abstract Submission page for additional details and guidance. Oral presentations While most abstracts will be presented in poster form during the poster sessions, a number of abstracts will be selected to be delivered as oral presentations during the Symposium. The majority of speakers at the ISNV Symposium will be selected from submitted abstracts. Each session will feature one plenary speaker and three to five oral presentations to be selected from the abstracts by the Scientific Committee. Oral presentations will be approximately fifteen minutes each plus discussion, time permitting. If you wish to be considered for an oral presentation, please indicate so at the time of abstract submission. Please note that all abstracts selected for oral presentation must also be presented in the poster session. Poster presentations All posters for the ISNV Symposium will be presented at the Poster Session to be held during the meeting. Posters should be no larger than 33 inches wide and 48 inches high (portrait orientation). Acceptance and acknowledgement The final decision regarding abstract acceptance and selection for oral presentation rests with the Scientific Committee. Each abstract submission will be acknowledged by e-mail. Authors of submitted abstracts accepted by the Committee to give oral presentations will be notified no later than Monday, August 23th. Publication A supplemental issue of the Journal of NeuroVirology, which will include abstracts accepted for poster and oral presentations, will be published and distributed at the meeting. Travel grants The meeting organizers will offer a limited number of travel awards for junior investigators to attend and present their abstracts in special sessions. Travel grants will cover the cost of lodging and will help to defray the cost of airfare. Per diem expenses are not included. Trainees will be reimbursed after submission of expenses following the meeting. Students and postdoctoral fellows who are members of the ISNV and are presenting authors on submitted abstracts are eligible to apply for a travel grant. Trainees who become members of the ISNV at the time of meeting registration and abstract submission will be considered eligible. Junior investigators will be asked to indicate their interest in being considered for a travel grant at the time of abstract submission. Trainees must verify their eligibility by providing a letter from their advisor or department chair (on institution letterhead) confirming their status as a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow. Travel grant requests must be made at the time of abstract submission and therefore must be received by the abstract submission deadline. Please address the letter to the attention of the "Investigators-in-Training Selection Committee". Your letter should be sent as an e-mail attachment to Sandy Weiss (mail@isnv.org) in the ISNV Administrative Office or faxed to 215-707-9838. Trainees who have not confirmed their status by providing a letter from their advisor or Chair will not be eligible to receive a travel grant. For more information...
